San Francisco Home: Great-Room Design (Before & After Pics)
My latest project was a San Francisco home with the most gorgeous views! This post is part one of two. Let's start downstairs. You'll see from the photos below that in this area, particularly in the dining room, space planning and furniture placement was key.

In the 'before' pic above you can see the dining table is turned vertically which takes up a lot of room and made the area seem tight. By turning the table horizontally and placing it closer to the wall, an entirely new area was created which then became the perfect place for a bar/lounge right next to the dining room. Now it is quite perfect for entertaining (see below). Even with the additional seating there is still plenty of room for walking around.

The 'before' photo below was taken after I did some furniture rearranging. Take note of the art on the wall to the right, most of it ended up on the new gallery wall in the living room.

The 'before' photo below shows the table facing vertically again along with a peek into the living room.

In the 'after' shot below, a seating area was created smack dab in front of that window in order to take full advantage of the amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge... I told you the views in this home were awesome! Stay tuned for part two of the before and after photos in this San Francisco home. You won't want to miss the huge transformations in the bedrooms upstairs.
